When a child is born in the Dagaaba region of Ghana, the community is called upon to provide a name. Deliberation continues while as the baby’s character develops and weeks will pass before a suitable name is chosen.

Annamala means ‘it shall be well’ and it was chosen as the name of the baby girl born to Boon & Up's Production Assistant. This traditional  pattern, originally based on the plumage of the guineafowl, is named in her honor.
